About School

Learning Through Play: The Foundation of Child Development

At Little Douglasites, we recognize the crucial role "play" has in child development. Tactile play enhances fine and gross motor skills, physical play promotes growth, and imaginative play boosts social-emotional learning. Most importantly, all forms of play nurture a love of learning that children will carry with them throughout their educational journey.

Encouraging Self-Help Skills, Self-Regulation, and Independence

At Little Douglasites, our early childhood Programme starts by guiding children and gradually advancing to the development of essential self-help skills. These skills include mixing salads, watering plants, folding clothes, putting away toys and knitting a doll among many others. With continuous, personalized support from our teachers, our youngest learners master these self-help skills which help them take care of themselves and each other, fostering a sense of competence and self-confidence.

Developing the Mind through,
Discernment of World

At Douglas Memorial Higher Secondary School (DMHSS), we prioritise the holistic development of our students' minds through critical thinking, storytelling, practical projects, meaningful dialogue, drama, rhythmic movement, visual arts, singing, and playing musical instruments. Our approach ensures that students are well-equipped to understand and navigate the complexities of the world, fostering intellectual growth and lifelong learning.

Our Vision

At Little Douglasites, we believe in fostering a love for learning from an early age, inspired by the Finnish early education curriculum. We believe that learning should be fun and engaging. Our focus is on creating a high-quality learning environment that nurtures each child's individuality.

Our Mission

Our mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, and inclusive environment that inspires young minds to explore, discover, and thrive. We aim to cultivate a community of learners who are curious, confident, and compassionate, equipped with requisite skills and knowledge to succeed in an ever-evolving world.
